Newcastle Clinic is delighted to announce that we have taken on a new sponsorship opportunity with a local organisation: the Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter!
Every year, about 250,000 domestic animals are left at UK rescue centres. The Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter itself has about 115 animals on their premises at any one time.
Located in Benton, the Newcastle Cat and Dog Shelter provides a safe place for homeless animals, including a large number of rescue animals that live on their farm lands!
The charity was recently featured in a Channel4 documentary – watch the episode of Animal Rescue Live to learn about the incredible work they do for hundreds of animals each year.
Caring for the animals and finding them new homes requires a lot of effort and money. This includes not only feeding and watching after the animals, but also vet checks, vaccinations, microchipping and training.
In order to help rehome the stray animals, Newcastle Clinic has donated funding for a new website for the shelter.
“We wanted to provide something unique for the Newcastle Dog and Cat Shelter. Providing an updated website that helps potential pet owners find out about the shelter and the animals looking for homes seemed like a logical way to help the charity,” said Shaun Fryer, Managing Director at Newcastle Clinic.
“As a team of animal lovers and a local business, we believed that supporting the animal shelter would be a fulfilling way to give back to the community. I’m just nervous about the number of animals that will be coming home with us after our next visit!” he added.
The new website is due to launch toward the end of the year. The charity is also actively seeking support from individuals and businesses in the region – find out how you can help here.
