Patients are often referred for an abdominal (stomach) MRI scan to clarify findings from x-rays or CT scans.
An MRI of the abdomen is used to look at:
- Abdominal blood flow
- Abdominal blood vessels
- Gall stones
- Liver or kidney problems
- Abdomen lymph nodes
An abdominal MRI can distinguish normal tissue from a tumour and can help clarify the size, severity and spread.
Our open MRI scanner provides a much more comfortable experience than a closed scanner, as it has no walls or enclosed tube. We accept NHS referrals to our private MRI for obese and claustrophobic patients.
